Radio Tres Puntos was born in the heart of Esperanza Andina 10 years ago as a project led by Emilio Vargas and Jaime Olguín, sons of founders of this town. With the intention of strengthening community communication, they created this medium through the Entre Nubes Youth Center, an organization that not only impacted their territory, but also encouraged and organized young people from across the commune.

With the vision of generating change in Peñalolén, these two young people opted for a project that promoted citizen and youth participation, demonstrating that young people from popular sectors can not only raise their voices, but also realize their ideals. Completely voluntarily, they dedicated their time and effort to growing this initiative.

Over the years, the work bore fruit and the Radio Tres Puntos team expanded until it currently has around 30 people, including collaborators and permanent members. Today, the radio has established itself as an information reference in the commune, standing out for its constant evolution and professionalization in tune with technological and social advances.

Growth and Professionalization

The commitment of Radio Tres Puntos has promoted the creation of solid information guidelines and the carrying out of journalistic investigations, taking advantage of new communication technologies. This has made her a role model for other community media.

During its 10 years of experience, the radio has informed and entertained the community of Peñalolén and surrounding areas, covering local and national news, making emerging artists visible and providing a space for neighbors to express their needs and problems.

Thanks to the application for competitive funds, the media has been able to acquire high-standard technological equipment, improve its infrastructure and expand its antenna signal, allowing more sectors of the community to access its programming. In addition, the constant work of its team has facilitated the creation of contact networks and obtaining sponsors who have supported the project since its inception.
