You only get to take 3 pictures for ID each day, otherwise you can pay for a subscription. The comparison pictures, even in the index, are terrible quality (very blurry) and very few examples of the rocks to help confirm identity. I do like being able to add to my collection and the description/uses/sources of the rocks. The app would be way more useful if the pictures were actually clear and there was a variety for comparison. Blurry pictures are really make it garbage.
It couldn't identify ANY of my crystals! I have been collecting crystals for over 13 years. I wanted this app as backup for when I'm not able to access my catalogue system where I photograph and name tag each one. I started with some basic and easy crystals, and the app couldn't even identify ONE! What's worse is the suggestions that it gave where nowhere near close, some were completely different colours. I had good lighting and positioning, and it was useless. Don't bother with it!
I really like this app, but would be greater, if we could edit the saved collection to add the value of the rock 🪨 and put notes of where it came from etc; I think it still needs some tweaking, but like better than rock identifier. Please add to it so that we can edit in it. Thank you
