Call Buddy, a phone dialer Description
Call Buddy is simple to use. Great when you can't see well. Has highly visible, giant speed dial buttons.
I use it on the ski slopes where bright sun, fogged goggles, and presbyopia make it hard to see the screen. Before heading to the slopes, I set up 3 or 4 big buttons for calling my ski buddies. This takes only a few seconds.
Call Buddy has:
• A calling screen with really big call buttons
• A Buddy List to instantly add and delete call buttons
• Add your own images to the call buttons
• Add buddies from your Contacts
• Trade phone numbers instantly
• Speed dial option
• Speakerphone option (inactive on some phones)
• Dark mode option
• Password option
Set up speed dial buttons for:
• Friends
• Club or study group
• Festival or conference companions
• Ski buddies
• Emergency help
Set up Call Buddy for someone else:
• Someone visually or physically impaired
• Use as a nurse call button
Use phone lockdown for:
• A young child
• Someone with dementia or alzheimer's
Password setup:
A password lets you lock Call Buddy so the call buttons and settings cannot be changed.
To activate the password, tap the dot menu, Preferences, Password setup. Enter a password and tap OK. Then go to the calling screen. Call Buddy will not let you out of the Calling Screen without first entering your password. Caution: Don't forget your password! The only remedy is to uninstall and reinstall Call Buddy.
Phone lockdown setup:
You can lock down your phone so it will only display Call Buddy's calling screen.
This is perfect for people with dementia or alzheimer's because it prevents them from navigating away from the call button screen, from making unwanted phone calls, or from changing any phone settings.
To lock down your phone, install an app such as Parental Control SecureKids from the Google Play Store. Set up that app, allowing access only to Call Buddy. In Call Buddy, set up a password. Also make sure Preferences / Speed dial is turned on. Now you have a phone that only displays Call Buddy's call buttons, and cannot be changed in any way without the passwords. This setup gives you similar functionality to the RAZ Memory Cell Phone without costing hundreds of dollars.
