Basically, we must ask ourselves first: Why should my child learn Arabic? or why is it important for my child to learn Arabic? This question is very important as the teaching process of someone the Arabic language and its continuation depends mainly on the extent of her/his conviction of the importance of learning the Arabic language.
To answer this question; first of all, the Arabic language is the language of the Koran. Missing the Arabic language results in missing the most important dimension in the Koran, which is the rhetorical miracle. Man can understand the meaning of this issue when S(he) listens to the Koran with the heart humbled by the meanings. Any other Muslim who has not taught the Arabic language cannot reach the same understanding and hence the effect of the blessing of the Qur'an.
Second, it is difficult to accept that parents in the immigration and destination countries are unable to communicate with their child using their mother tongue language and this result in many cases in foreignness feelings between the parents and their child.
Third, Arabic language is one of the active languages spoken by 22 Arab countries. This is a significant number and indicates the importance of learning it.
Last but not least, more than a billion and a quarter Muslims with the majority who can read and speak Arabic. Above all, it’s the language of Muslims.
Besides, most of the Arabic language lessons are usually held on Saturdays. This is mainly because Saturdays is the school weekly holiday at their schools in the West. A single day weekly is not enough. In the second week, the child usually forgets what he/she has learned the week before. Moreover, the child gets tired all week at the school and waits for the weekend for rest and play. Alternately he/she finds him/herself taking more Arabic teaching lessons that stress him/her out and shortens the available time for playing and enjoyable time with his/her friends.
These are some of the problems which are being faced when we would like to teach our children the Arabic language in immigration and destination countries.
Given these facts and in order to avoid those challenges that have been resulting in failure to achieve success in educating the Arabic language, and hence enabling Arabic originated families in the destination and immigration countries, an advanced mobile- and web-based application is developed. This can open new horizons for children to learn the Koran and become capable to perform their prayers for example.
The application includes a number of different teaching levels. It starts with educating 28 alphabetic letters that takes approximately 7 months of four years child to learn. A child moves to the next letter after passing successfully his test in the previous letter until completing all letters during this phase.
After completing the educational process for the 28 alphabs, t moves forward to the next level where he/she learns the level of words after which he/she starts to follow the next level of teaching sentences. This enables the child/trainee to start reading and writing the Koran easily.
