Harpa Crista e Biblia Description
We turned this wonderful hymnal into an app for musicians, workers, all those who use and love the Christian Harp. We are working hard to make some updates to improve usability.
The Christian Harp has been the instrument of national consolidation of Pentecostal hymnology, mainly through the congregational singing of the Assemblies of God. One of the reasons that contributed to this was the fact that each Christian Assembly should have their own copy of the hymnal and take it to the church, unlike churches of traditional denominations in Brazil, North America and Europe, where the temples are who have copies of their hymnals available for the faithful to use in their services. Now everyone has the opportunity to not only sing but also participate by playing all these beautiful hymns with this new app.
After 90 years of existence, many of the beautiful and edifying hymns of Harpa Cristã, go beyond the borders of the Assembly, touching the hearts of thousands of Christians and other Brazilian evangelical denominations, reaching the honored position of the best known and loved hymnal throughout the country.
There is no doubt about the importance of praising God in Pentecostal worship, in which the hymns of the Christian Harp stand out.
In its beginnings, the Assemblies of God sang traditional Protestant hymns, but there was a need for lyrics that stuck to Pentecostal truths and reflected their fervor. Thus, Pentecostal composers and translators begin to emerge.
Many of these hymns expressed faith in the empowerment of the baptism with the Holy Spirit, stressed the need for devotion and sanctification in the believer's life, and spoke of Jesus' imminent return.
In 1922, the first edition of Harpa Cristã was launched in Recife (PE), which would become the official hymnbook of the Assemblies of God. Since 1941, CPAD has published, revised, expanded and disseminated the Christian Harp.
