Size the pipe - by MTA Description
With the MTA pipe size calculator, you can determine the correct output for liquid chillers or heat pumps as early as the planning phase, dimension the appropriate pipes and determine the correct proportion of frost protection.
The following calculations are possible:
Cooling capacity
Calculate the required output based on the volume or mass flow, as well as the water inlet and outlet temperature with the corresponding glycol content.
Frost-protection
For frost protection, choose between mono-ethylene glycol or propylene glycol for food-related applications and adjust the concentration within the cooling water according to the desired frost protection level.
Pipe dimension
Determine the theoretical pipe diameter based on the volume flow and the desired flow velocity; then select a suitable pipe in accordance with EN 10255.
Pressure drop
Calculate the pressure drop in the pipes and add fittings and pipe bends. The pipe volume and the pressure loss per meter of pipe are also displayed.
Project
In project mode, you will be guided through all of the above calculations one time. Values you have already calculated are used for the pursuing calculations. You can then print out your project data, save it as a PDF and send it by email.
