It was working so well, until I accidentally clicked save. I spent 2 HOURS working on a floor plan and it was a wonderful experience. But then it said saving design. I thought it would be easy to just continue working on it but unfortunately, it saves it how you have it cropped in the moment so all that hard work was thrown away. I decided to move to paper.
The AR capabilities are neat... but the constant requests to allow access to my contacts is obnoxious. Even when I select "don't ask again" and deny permissions on the android prompt, the app still asks me to go into my settings and enable access to contacts every time I want to save a picture. and then always takes me a "share" screen which I have to back out of. I don't want to send the pictures to anyone, and I certainly am not going to give a furniture app access to my contacts.
I discovered Houzz more than 10 years ago on my Fire and was mesmerized by the full-screen, beautiful images that inspired ideas for my own home... until they stopped supporting the app on that device. I had to install it on my phone from Google Play. Now I am forced to look at images of homes and literal landscapes in PORTAIT mode only, instead of in landscape mode. It feels awkward and unnatural. I am definitely missing the old version.
