For me, the app works pretty well. Sometimes I have to close and reopen so messages will load, but at least it gives notifications. It does have connection problems and will have trouble loading profiles (including my own). What I DO want is to have something that'd pop up to let you know when the other person was typing (that's my main problem)
The app has its issues, I won't pretend it doesn't. There are bots, there are catfish, both of which are easy to spot, but still very annoying, especially since there's no real reporting system that I know of. But it's a much more accessible platform than things like ace-book or asexualitic, and I was really surprised to see so many aces within a stone's throw of me, especially since I live out in the middle of nowhere. I've met really great people, and I'd recommend the app, despite it's flaws.
I updated the app on 6/4/20 and have been unable to log in with my email (connecting via Gmail and typing it in). It says "Connecting to ACEapp" then immediately crashes/closes the app by itself. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times. Edit: After several emails, they finally resolved the issue. Communication could improve. And the new update looks better, but I do have concerns about requiring users to put their first and last name (and no way to make it private).
