I wish acorns was a bit more like Rocket Money, in that, I wish there was an option that allowed you to turn the spare change into a savings option instead of or in addition to an investment account. the extra 20 cents into a savings fund that is immediately accessible could be useful for some to pay debt, or cover their losses in case of emergency, built off of change; money they won't notice they have to save, just as much as it can add to investing. that is my only complaint. otherwise, good!
The idea is good but the implementation is weird. It rubs me the wrong way that when a purchase is an exact dollar amount, it rounds up to the next dollar instead of letting it be. You can't just invest the round ups, it also requires a fixed contribution per week, which is not as explained. You can't customize your stocks without premium, which is even more money. It's not streamlined. Sad most "bank" apps try to sell you something without basic controls you would expect.
Love the simplicity of the app and the several additional accounts you can open up. I also love the ways you can get other companies to invest in your account just by sending on their website or in person. EDIT: Why did you get rid of the Walmart Grocery Pickup??? We love using that!! EDIT 2: Customer service is non existant unfortunately. I have asked to have my primary checking account updated 4 times now and followed the instructions and all I get is the same email from yet another agent.
