This app and airasia have failed me in several ways. First, it defaulted an incorrect phone number into my account and then when I updated the number, it failed and locked the account. Customer service failed in reading and responding to my messages by responding with auto response that had 'NOTHING' to do with my 'detailed email messages'. After weeks of failure by airasia I opened a new account and bought tickets. Now the new account will not allow me to purchase tickets either.
The app doesn't let me book a flight when I need to. Someone ended up booking the flight for me on a 3rd party website. Unfortunately, the wrong checked luggage was selected. Normally, I would be able to go to the counter and they will charge me the difference. Nope, I was charge 8749.93 baht ($258.47 USD). That's more than double my plane ticket. At the time of writing, the exchange rate is 36.1229 to the dollar. They AirAsia used 33.8526 as the rate. Got screwed because app didn't work.
As many, many others have mentioned, this is horrifically unstable, and always presents problems when you're trying to pay. It could get you right up to the part where you enter your credit card information, and then simply freeze or refuse to go forward. You're then forced to restart again, only for it to do the same thing. This happened many times in the past, and I often try to opt for another airline simply because their app and their website suck so much.
