It blocks the camera. It doesn't block the microphone, but to be fair I haven't seen any app to completely block the microphone yet. They all just try to mute the audio stream and any other app can still just use it as normal. Same goes for the location, because unlike the camera interface (which runs on a service app by the hardware manufacturer), microphone and location are base Android system apps and can only be modified and controlled either with root access or a custom Android ROM.
So I was really happy with this app. I thought it was so great that I even was going to recommend it to my friends, but then I paid the $5.60 for the subscription and it charged my account for it and didn't give me anything. I am so mad and upset right now. And I can't get ahold of anyone from support either. I'm very disappointed
Whitelist needs to be more comprehensive (canconical). This is necessary because certain protections adversely affect the functionality of google services & play store. Check out the app Microguard for a good example of whitelisting.
