With the old app, I would be notified maybe 30 times total combined per day for both of my cameras. Further, movement and everything could be explained. With the new app, it's in the 200-300 range per Camera, at times more. And this is with zones I created awhile back. I bought a third camera for a friends house, and the constant notifications became so extreme, I disabled it. With all three, it was every few seconds. Arlo needs to fix this, or at least make it easy for me to correct.
When I get an alert and try to see what is going on in real time, it just spins. If someone were to break in, they would be in and out before I knew what was happening. This is unlike the ad where you speak to the burglar live before they actually break in. Also, the recordings stop too quickly. Motion is constant, but only 12 seconds of it is recorded. I am happy with the quality of the recordings. Overall, it could be much better.
The app does a good job of sensing car motion vs people. However, the recording is nowhere near long enough and duration is not configurable in the app. Many times the camera will detect a person at the end of my driveway but the recording stops long before they reach my door. Other times the lag in notification makes it useless -- I can hear someone opening my door before I get the notice that the camera detected someone. These issues make the "safety" aspect of this product basically useless.
