Glitching out with my 9. Running a hero 9 and 10 at the same time on an 21 ultra 5g. testing the apps toggles, I noticed that on a disconnect and reconnect of both cameras the 9 stays "connecting" (persistent) and can no longer control it until I close the app or restart the cam (auto turns on?!). It will start the 9 up on a reconnect, but fails to truly establish connection. This is causing a forced boot up. Like to see a more simplified controller display option like a remote for a basic UI
Accidently disconnected my naked hero 9 from the quick app I had the rear screen but not the in-between link battery cage. It wouldn't let me update and had forgotten the gopro labs I had installed. All I got was update error. I could use it but only with the settings I had used before I was mega gutted and frustrated and staring down at having to get another 9 to tear down to re connect this one and create another. This app saved me! Paired it through Bluetooth which then allowed the WiFi 👍
I needed a way to control my Hero 4 and be able to see the video in Live Preview while I was shooting it. After trying the GoPro app and learning it would not do this, I ended up here at Camera Tools For Heros. It didn't work... BUT... I send in an email to their tech support and over the course of a couple of days, had a back-and-forth with a *real* person (not a canned and ineffectual response) who walked me through some options and I'll be darned if it doesn't work exactly as promised now. Their tech guy is Harald Meyer and he is patient and persistent. He kept at it until it worked perfectly and there was never a hint of "I'm working with an idiot" from him. All kudos to Harald! I'm making this sound like the software is difficult. It is not. There was an issue with MY camera that he finally diagnosed and corrected. Connection with the camera is now quick and easy. All I really needed was for it to show me what's being recorded but the controls extend further than that and really do give you better control over the camera. Remember, I'm using a Hero 4 and diddling with that little screen in the front to figure out settings is a pain. Not anymore. I'm looking forward to exploring the capabilities of the app even further. I highly recommend this app AND the tech support that comes with it!
