Great way to get info, but Carnival's WiFi kept dropping and I'd have to reconnect. That really affected the Chat. Quite a few messages were received much later than when they were sent which could be inconvenient or even useless a time or two. Loved the ship map, coordinating with my location on the ship would be a good idea. I really liked the restaurant check in notifications, especially being able to check my balance and card usage. Overall, a good app.
Messages will fail to send, and you will not be notified of this. This led to multiple misunderstandings and issues on our trip. It would be one thing if this service was included with the cruise, but with an additional charge I feel like it needs improvement. I understand the connection challenges on a cruise, but I'd rather the system not be available at all then work poorly for a fee. Otherwise, the app provided useful information pretty easily. Some issues with dining check-in.
We went with a large group and were very happy to be able to stay connected with everyone using the "CHAT" feature on the app. The app allowed us to check in to dinner at any time all together. We were able to see what venues were open at what times and what was happening. We could check the weather, the dress attire, menus, casino points and credits, account summary, excursion options,... I believe the app was not only very helpful, but necessary.
