The app has every function that you need but it crashes every time I try to save what I've done, making the mobile version unusable. That's particularly disappointing as using the computer to use Catalyst Edit can be cumbersome, particular when you've got a few things plugged into the amp already. A fix for this bug would be greatly appreciated.
This Android App, the Windows App, and the firmware for Catalyst Amps have not been updated in over a year. With so little love from Yamaha/Line 6 (no updates!!), I'm strongly wondering if they've have already abandoned the Catalyst platform. Certainly looks like this. The App doesn't work properly on Pixel 6 phones, drawing off the side of the screen area. That's quite a popular phone to ignore.
It seems to work very well . You will want to use hum and bias and the noise gate is very adjustable to the point of cleaning up a fuzz pedal. It's not just a clip off. If you go jam you will want to use your phone with it. You can store as many profiles as you want. You can have 12 channels. But you can also have many more mixes in your phone. Not bad for a $500 combo amp
