I agree with the previous reviews that the developers should have announced the old app will stop working. I also lost all the videos from this year and don't understand why there was no way to log in with the old account in the new app! However, I think the new app is great. I like it that the videos can be longer than 2 seconds. I like the feature of adding locations and journal entries to the videos. I like the new system of Request a Feature. For me the 38$ yearly subscription is justified.
I had been using the paid app on an Android device until a recent update, which removed the monthly subscription option and replaced it with an annual fee. I contacted customer support to request they reinstate the monthly subscription option, and their response was for me to add my request to another forum. I simply don't believe that a monthly option is no longer available for technical reasons. For me, it's a monthly paid subscription or not using it at all.
I've been using this app for years now. I love the idea. Switched from the old one and lost all snippets. I'm reposting them manually because luckily I have all photos and videos on the cloud, to download back to my phone and then upload to the 1sec app. The 1sec backup is not very trustable (it wasn't when changing smartphone and it wasn't now, switching apps). The new diary feature is great, but the captions does not work. I have to write/rewrite dozens of time for it to stick on the snippet
