Under most conditions the compass works as well as the mapping compass I normally use when hiking. The accuracy drops off in areas with high Fe content or electric power, but that is true for physical compass as well. I think this, plus maps loaded into my phone, are a good quick access nav gear in comparison to the physical compass and maps.
I love the user interface of this compass, but it never reliably pointed north -- I had to go through the calibration routine every time I wanted to take a reading, and even then, it wasn't reliable (sometimes I had to re-calibrate it several times). If I didn't already know which way was North, I'd have been lost using this compass. Other compass apps on my phone do not have this problem.
Excellent app! Simple and easy to use. One of the very few apps that have a rotatable index bezel. Perfect for dive navigation training. One request would be if you could please add the side window, similar to a real diving compass. Kindest regards and thanks again for this great app.
