I've had both the original Cubo and the new Cubo AI plus. We've never had any connection issues with either. We had one issue with the humidity sensor not reading correctly when we first got the Cubo AI plus but this was fixed right away after contacting customer support right through the app. I love this monitor. Edit* We bought a second Cubo for our other daughter and now they are both frustratingly unstable. You have to close the app out and reopen 2-3 times before you can see your child.
This device is terrible and so is that app. We have a very expensive enterprise WiFi system in the house that is ROCK SOLID, on every device other than this, I even added an additional ap within 10ft of the kids rooms which reports the signal between this device and the AP at -50dbm and excellent signal strenth. Regardless this thing disconnects all the time, the app crashes randomly, the background sound monitoring is unreliable, it's just terrible, save your money buy something else.
It's a great camera but when I started it was free, paid for the plus but then learned it's per camera so even though we've spent hundreds to purchase multiple cameras for own home, 1 subscription can't cover a household. App is very buggy with more than one camera and often will disconnect me from one or have a huge lag when I try to switch. Turning on the music through the app can be a nightmare and it's taken easily 20 or more minutes sometimes and multiple app launches to get it to connect
