As others have mentioned, changing files externally WILL NOT correctly sync any updates. It SHOULD check the last modified date of each file and use that to determine whether to pull fresh files from the cloud. I don't care if it's an option that takes x10 as long, it's syncing in the background anyway; fix it. Works otherwise but extremely disappointing a main claimed feature simply doesn't work due to lazy code.
I have using folder sync to keep some files in sync across my phone, tablet and PC by making a shared folder on the PC. Works great, with no issue.... I paid for the Premium feature in FolderSync, and I just noticed there is a FolderSync Pro also, would be good to know if pay for the premium is the same as getting foldersync pro directly.
Downloaded this to sync an SMB share on a NAS. After entering all required info (username, password, server address, port, and SMB share name), receive the error that it failed to connect and the message "The following error occurred when trying to access the configured account: [server address of NAS]." FileSync's guide on their website is very brief and completely unhelpful (e.g. "Please ensure a username/password is provided." No kidding, I did that, now what?). It's utterly useless for me.
