I LOVE the online version of GDevelop! The app is pretty good too, but it's easier for me online and on a computer. There are plenty of free assets in the asset store, and setting behaviors, animations and events is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. They also have plenty of tutorials. I had a little trouble with setting up the joystick and the hearts bar, so my game will probably just be a computer game. But either way- if you want to easily make a fun, detailed game... USE GDEVELOP!😁
The engine is limited on mobile with a pay wall for free users. I got freaked out thinking it went to a total freemium model. Desktop is still open, thank goodness!!! I don't know how useful the mobile app is for phones, it might work well on tablet but phones just don't have enough real estate to display the UI comfortably. That being said I think it is as close to perfect while still mimicking the desktop as it can be.
As a developer I think this app is amazing! All the tools but pocket edition. Log in was smooth and all my projects load in seconds from the Cloud. You basically have all your tools and windows in the same layout as desktop but it functions of more of switching between tabs. Testing mobile apps is even easier as I don't even have to do an apk and just run a preview and test via mobile. The app is fantastic for this. I can definitely be on my phone doing edits and save throughout the day.
