This app is absolutely amazing! Two things I would improve about it is an offline mode/way to download the maps, and a slideshow instead of pressing the button each time. It would be five stars if it had these, but I'll still give it four, due to how much content and information it has. Still worth the purchase! Edit: the same thing is available on pc for free. There is also a different expensive subscription with more content. Now 3 stars.
I only gave a 4 star because just today the app started acting up. It takes forever to load the map. And sections are whited out. It's always worked perfectly and up until today I would have given 5 stars I use it alot. I read mostly historical fiction from either Roman times of antiquitity to late middle ages. And I like to look at the map to see the areas I'm reading about in that timeline. I came here today looking to see if there was an update
The definition of "does what it says on the tin". UI is very basic but very intuitive. Works very smoothly on a Samsung phone. All the countries link to a Wikipedia page, as well as other major events. Gives you very granular view by year. Wonderful app!
