Pros: price is right for a backup phone number to give people you're not sure about. Not traceable so if someone is trying to find information on you after meeting out in public or online, pretty safe Cons: I do not get notifications for calls or texts reliably from the app. Even opening the app and refreshing on screen it won't show a new message sometimes for hours. The phone calls are unreliable. Basically using this app as a a trial run for new people before they get the official number.
I use Hushed daily as a dedicated line for work, so I can message clients on my own phone but without using my personal number. It's way more convenient for me than using a second sim card or carrying around another phone. There's a few features I'd really like to see added though that would make this even better for me - ability to export my contacts to a file, ability to place voice calls from a copy-and-pasted number (you can text a copied number but you have to dial for voice) and group msgs
I've used this service for a year now, and unfortunately, its notifications aren't very reliable. I've missed calls and not realized I had received texts multiple times. It also will not save text messages as drafts if you close before sending. It also seems to run in the background on its own.. you can tell via push notifications that pop up regularly. Not sure what it's doing. It's okay but, I'm not renewing my plan.
