Updating my review for November 28th, 2023. I've had this app for a year or three. The app still works great. If you're new I recommend that you experiment with it to learn it. The really cool part of the app as that you can make custom panels containing symbols or strings you use often but don't want to go through the trouble of copy-pasting every time. For example: Frog heiroglyph. 𓆏 I also very much appreciate that there are no ads. I cannot stand ads so this app has been great for me.
As of version 5.3.1, the documentation doesnt explain all the features (eg, levels). Or maybe the level feature isnt working yet. Allows for separate portrait and landscape designs, which enable automatically upon orientation change (very cool when it works). The export/import process often doesnt transfer the target design & mode along with the "Change design & mode" function. Would be nice to hav a user forum and a list of issues already reported. Otherwise, its a powerful and useful app.
After using this keyboard, I dont't want to go back to any other keyboard app. The flexibility is astounding. I've placed my keys exactly where I want them, and added function keys for copy, paste, select all, cursor movement, inserting a custom string, and even loading an app. Each key can also have a custom visual symbol. Keyboard Designer is one of the first apps I'll install on a new device.
