comics are not compounded into their own series and inflates browsing categories. also hate the "bounce/wiggle" effect that happens after turning a page in a book. it's too much motion for static material and makes for a really jarring reading experience. i lock my phone into portrait mode, but the app overrides that, and even a slight left tilt on my phone makes the books i read auto-adjust to horizontal view, when i never intended it to. this app needs a lot of attention to be usable.
The service that this app provides is phenomenal. It has a great, robust library of books that's different and complimentary to other public library apps I use. The app design and functionality is unfortunately janky as hell. It's to the point where recently the entire app has stopped working telling me "Network not found," and nothing I try has been able to get it to connect again. Sidenote: turns out the settings menu is not available offline, which seems a very bad call.
It's a pretty solid app that I've gotten some really solid use out of but there are two gripes I've got, one of which is big and the other is minor. The biggest issue is that despite the ability to download comics to read (as opposed to streaming them), the app seems to need to make a request to determine which books are on your shelf and downloaded. If you're not online, no books show up in your collection even under the downloaded tab. Also, the search function is clunky and unpredictable.
