Sadly, not a valid alternative to FB Messenger. Too often it's not automatically activated when I'm in the browser and click "send message" (especially to a page). I get redirected to the store to install the full Messenger app. It feels like Facebook doesn't know that this app is there! If I try to send it from within the app, it doesn't find the page among the contacts, even though I have "liked" it.
The app itself works great for sending and receiving messages and the phone works pretty well as well but I can't see any messages that are being sent to me nor can I click on any links. It won't let me send videos because "it doesn't support the file type" and when I send pictures it'll just say "image-00000" or something I can't see what I've sent. Also if someone sends a sticker or a thumbs up it doesn't show it just appears as a little translucent box
I have been using this app for a long time. I know why I think there are less of a lot of features. Cumin: Audio / video calls cannot be made in the group. Again, it is not possible to reply to any message, even emoji is a customize problem. If these issues are kept in mind and added new features, the messenger light user will benefit a lot.
