The app is overall very good. I like the product line a lot. The only downfall is that the motion zones simply don't work. I get false notifications all the time, and headlights or other ambient light will cause a false motion detection. That simple fault in and of itself is probably the reason why I will eventually dump this product line for another one. It's too bad because I have a lot of money wrapped up in this infrastructure.
It could be worse. This app ships with a physical smart thermostat that is installed in the home. As an available anytime web service, it's very convenient, but the company seems confused about its intended customer audience. The "features" seem designed primarily to help electrical companies save money. I fought with economy mode, and rebate offers more than I have with any other mobile application or home thermostat.
App stopped working and is constantly saying my Nest is offline when it is in fact, successfully connected to wifi. Tested the connection with my wifi provider and there is a strong connection to the nest, so I know it isn't a wifi issue. I also went through all the troubleshooting prompts that are suggested by Google, and it continues to have this error over and over. The app will work for a bit, then say the thermostat is offline again a few hours later. Google, please fix this huge bug!!!
