They use books as an example for how much each subscription tier can be used, but the experience of using this to listen to books isn't very good. The highest subscription tier's max word count is still shorter than the chapters in some books. When you paste in something over that length, they just truncate it and throw away the rest. You can't even listen to one chapter while having it record the next. All that said, the voices are pretty good, so far as tts goes. It's also a bit buggy.
There are two voices (one male, one female) that sound really good, all things considered. However, there is no Unlimited Reading Subscription option, which I would happily pay extra for as I work 70 hours a week and would like to listen to various things during that time. Also, I wanted to test it out so I only got the Gold Subscription, but to upgrade offered no prorated discount. Great app, terrible options. If you don't read much, it's worth it, but for my purposes it's rather lacking.
The natural voice aspect of it is wonderful. But the rest of this app was very disappointing. You Only get 200 words for free, then a subscription is required. The prices aren't labeled anywhere in the app. I was unable to use the feature of changing the voice or the speed. There is a free option for more than 200 words, but it is not in natural voice. Most phones already have that feature without an extra app. Uninstalling now.
