I have tried all the others hoping for something free. I even tried one of the freemiums that allowed you to cache maps if you paid. Of course, whenever I needed it somehome *that* part of the map would appear blank... This app however is totally different and the maps come complete with the app. It means that the maps are always available in full resolution. Exactly what you need and not a lot more. I also like that you can import tracks and there are most of the doc tracks and huts already.
For the cost this app is quite disappointing. The maps seem old and outdated, multiple huts that are shown have since been removed. Some trails have details but its only about 50% of them. I've found Gaia to be about just as useful in NZ
Love the app. Offline capability makes it a real handy tool when hunting in those dead zones ( no cell reception) . Have been using it for the last 3 years never let me down.
