Onkyo Controller is the official Onkyo remote control application that allows users to conveniently operate compatible Onkyo network products from their Android handset.The intuitive, user-friendly interface makes it easy to get more from your AV home entertainment experience.
Main functions that can be operated through this application.
(1) Play music in each room or every room
- Lets you play music from music streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, DEEZER and TIDAL, your music library on your smart device, or your NAS drive on compatible products.
- You can play your music via radio, Bluetooth and USB.
(2) Remote control functions
- You can operate general control functions (play/stop, control the volume, select the input source, etc.) from your smartphone.
(3) Operation of connected product（home theater product such as AV amplifier）
- Lets you control a Blu-Ray Disc player or TV that is connected to an AV amplifier or home theater product via HDMI.
(4) Dirac Live-enabled products measure automatic sound field correction. In addition, filters can be edited.

・Why the device's location is needed? Answer: In order to set-up your wireless devices which are located around you, the access point information such as SSID is needed. There is no other purpose to use the information of the device’s location.
・When updating from ver. 2.x, customized settings are not inherited except for Dirac measurement results.

Download and install LDPlayer on your computer
Locate the Play Store in LDPlayer's system apps, launch it, and sign in to your Google account
Enter "Onkyo Controller" into the search bar and search for it
Choose and install Onkyo Controller from the search results
Once the download and installation are complete, return to the LDPlayer home screen
Click on the game icon on the LDPlayer home screen to start enjoying the exciting game

The app connects to my NR787 without issue. So far pretty good. I'm new to this app but I really wish the listening modes were shown in a list rather than having to repeatedly press the listening mode buttons to scroll through the options. *EDIT: Thanks for the recent update! 😀 If I may suggest making the volume wheel larger (it is small on my phone); and include the remote on the same screen.
Continues to lose connection. Have to shut it off and restart it. This time nothing has worked. Deleting it and reinstalling it. Pain to use! When it works it's great. Went from 2 stars to 1 as it no longer works. Why doesn't Onkyo address this?
Revising my review to 5 stars. Have used this and an older TX-NR676 receiver for 3 years now in a commercial coffee shop with 2 zones. We are open 7am-2am and we legit use this + an iPad the entire time for playing music. The Onkyo app is open 24/7 for fast access to changing the volume in either zone, or adjusting treble/bass/sub Really thankful that Onkyo has updated the app. It works really well from all platforms, and connects super fast.
