I've been using the free version of this software for years and finally decided to pay for the latest version. As of 5 minutes use, it looks like two issues I had with the old version is fixed: I can use datums other than wgs84, and I can disable map switching on zoom. This is by far the most complete, powerful, and customizable GPS software available on Android.
This has been my favorite app but now it is totally broken. It couldn't access my offline maps, even when moving them from sdcard to internal. I removed it and installed ver 9.03 and now it didn't even create the oruxmaps folder. Android 11. I started over with v 7.4.25 and it works again. Lost my tracks in the process but am looking forward to recreating them. The explanation and documentation was difficult to find and perhaps this Android update wasn't necessary. It's a great program.
I love Orux Maps, so complete and powerful! For folks that are finding it complex, activate the "lite" user interface. Unfortunately having problems now on Android 13, I Cannot access the Android/Data folder, so I can't put new offline maps that I created outside of orux for example. I'm looking forward for an update that address that. I do prefer how it was in older versions, an orux folder on the root folder.
