The app is great... BUT... email verification does not function at all. No verification emails are delivered when you create an account. Then, you can't use the app on a second device because the app informs you that you haven't verified your email. Infuriating. Furthermore, the "forgot password" functionality suffers the same fate of no emails being delivered. It's impossible to reset your password if you never receive the reset password email.
The Oxford application had a free version, fast and user-friendly. I happily used it daily, for years. Now it is a disaster, a perverse business model. The "free version" is so crippled it is virtually unusable. Ads obscure the entire page, difficult to delete. No toggling between the two languages. Freezes quickly. FORCES high-priced subscription. There are many dictionary apps that function well and fairly. Forget Oxford. Tragically, it has been corrupted by corporate greed. How sad.
I don't use the paid version but I do have the free version, despite of that it is an excellent app for understanding definitions as well as that I've been learning many new words for accepting and doing the daily word of the day. it's also helped improve my form and use of terms and words when I speak or write. all together, very well made app. Rio in da House, word out 😎🤙🙏
