I know this might seem self-serving, but I think this app has amazing potential. The frustration just comes from wanting it to be even better. I think one thing that would make this app truly fantastic is if it had a feature that highlighted what it was reading aloud and included the pinyin for the Chinese words. That would be a great way to ensure the pronunciation and comprehension were on point. For now, it's barely enough for my language acquisition needs.
Every language learner should get this app. The only thing I would change about it would be to allow users to choose how to organize their books (e.g. alphabetically, by author, by language, etc.). Being able to create folders or "shelves" in the library would be another option. Everything else about it is wonderful. Being able to upload your own books is great. The translation functions work really well, and I love having multiple translators in case one is having trouble with a word/phrase.
I'm currently learning Russian, and the app is great in most aspects except that when I try to play the audio for a paragraph translated into Russian, it still plays the English audio. I've changed all the settings to allow everything to be translated through Google speech services, so I'm not sure why it won't play the Russian audio. Otherwise, a great app.
