Excellent app to calculate the windings on a transformer. I took an old transformer (i.e. the charger from an old radio, or toy, or from an old ethernet switch/hub,etc) that had already a primary winding. I took it apart, used this app to calculate different windings for the secondary. I needed 12V-0-12V and 5V. The app is phenomenal because it allows you to input the dimensions of the existing core, the voltages you want and it will tell you exactly how many windings you need in the secondary.
Exactly what I was looking for! I never expected to find anything as comprehensive as this app has turned out to be. I reverse engineered a transformer yesterday, entered the core values in the app and got exactly the same number of turns and wire size used by the manufacturer. Can't beat that!
Very useful app for designing your own transformer (mains or higher frequency). It would be useful if the author provided little help file with some formulas and most common values of flux and current density. But as it is it very well deserves 5* . Thank you. Spasibo.
