Texting is good. I'll talk about video calls mostly. First of all, there's a major common bug that happens during video calls, the bug makes the toolbar disappear so you can't mute, hang up, and so on, I haven't been able to reproduce it 100% of the time, however it seems to happen after a long video call, usually after you open a media picker in some other app. Another issue is that when switching to another app, video becomes laggy. Also the UI is a bit unintuitive, and please add screen share
Backups cannot be trusted, making this app unusable. There is no option to create an unencrypted backup and without this all message history can be lost forever. I was directed to factory reset my phone to resolve an issue with cell service so I created a backup of my messages, saved the key in my password manager and tested it on my phone. It passed the test so I reset my phone. Now it says the key is invalid. Google or Git search for this issue. It goes back to 2018 and has not been resolved.
Great app! Wonderful way to connect with friends around the world. My only suggestion for improvement would be to record videos by hitting a button to start recording & then hit a button to stop verses having to hold down the record button the entire time. Also there is an unknown time limit (3 minutes?) where the video recorded is too long to load so it goes away & you have to do it over. It'd be nice to have a countdown to know when we're getting close. Other than that, we love it! Thanks!
