Useful and handy I have a few but my go to is the diag 2... Update I've had it for 2 years plus I've used it on multiple vehicles it is better than my body snap on vehicle he paid over $3,000 for it tells me more information and I have bi-directional control meaning I can turn on modules or components to see if they're good. Does live data it does misfire it does everything you can think of and more. Only downfall is you have to buy a new membership yearly but worth it if hobbiest, mechanic
I loved my ThinkDiag 2 when I got it, but lately (2-3 software updates ago) I have had to do a firmware fix before doing anything and it will still freeze or not function as it should. Also suddenly lost my history and nothing new is saved there. It's become pretty much a huge waste of time, probably going to throw it away instead of pay for the software when my year is up in two months.
It crashes a lot. I haven't gotten to a point where I can save yet. I'm hoping they'll keep working on it. I've got an LG V10. It's an old phone but it's so good. I may try to switch phones if I have more trouble. I bought a mainstream phone a few years ago just to run one app on. So I don't just blame the app. It might be my phone. I've got a generic scanner & app that rocks. But what if we could get all these features & more inside a reader? How far can they take this? Swap ECUs maybe? More?
