The device itself works nicely enough. The app is a nightmare. Despite correct setup it will constantly lose connection to the device and time estimates will be wildly inaccurate because of that. Out of nowhere, the app will give an error that you are trying to connect to another device and to reset-disconnect-reconnect. Not only does that mean losing all your tracked data, it also just doesn't work, because you can't disconnect a device it doesn't recognize as connected.
The idea is there... But the implementation suffer from a lack of debugging, and Mechanical design. Mechanical: The clamshell design is suffering from a lack manufacturing quality. Proposal - upgrade the shell design and use magnets. The play in between the part and lack of precision could be resolve this way. Software: Implement use-case covering simple tasks, such as : "change the color of the icon", "change the icon", etc... and debug all of them. The app is not finished, need polishing.
Simple but powerful. All my previous time management apps had so many customisation options, they actually ate my time instead of helping to save it. What a contrast. Timeflip is perfectly simple and easy to use. It may not be as powerful as my previous apps, but it is much better in helping me to focus and avoid distractions. Especially since no screen interaction is necessary. Happy with this discovery!
