Loved it at first. Right of the boat it located several files that were malicious, and when clicked on thevsay 1/73 Clean in beautiful "I'm safe" green. However, if you rerun it they show up the same way. I guess it doesn't in fact get rid of the virus or does it? My final analysis came from viewing the permissions. Why would you need permission to create accounts and passwords, read sync settings, toggle sync on and off, along with some others.. I'll happily change my review if you can explain.
Outstanding tool. Free, useful, and intuitive. Does exactly what you'd expect it to, without intrusive ads or other disruptions. The only thing I would add is some kind of progress bar or other means of monitoring upload status when submitting apps for analysis, but this is still a top-notch app regardless.
The app only scans your device. No options to scan urls or files. No explanations of results or anything really. Unless you're a computer person, you don't know what you're looking at when you get the results of a scan. They could at least make it friendly to the average Joe. All it does is scare you when you see that something came back positive and there's no option to delete a malicious file or take care of it. Step up your app Virus Total!
