I work in voice over. I have a clear, distinguishable voice that has no regional accent to speak of. I tried using this app just to take notes and some writing ideas and it is terrible. I can speak one slow syllable at a time and it doesn't get it correct (as in slow enough where I have to remember the next word), let alone if I speak anywhere near a normal speed. The idea of voice to speech is to be able to take notes on the go, or to dictate without writing to save time. Not eith this
Extremely counter-intuitive design. Right from the start you are placed in a giant editor and that's all you see. One has no idea how to save and get out of edit mode? The navigation drawer is non-standard and doesn't follow material design. There are no formatting options or much of any features. There's also a strange Flicker that appears in upper right corner of my screen when I tap voice record! Very bad design
Just trying out the app - and see both good and bad. So far, I can't find any user guides or help with using the app. Seems to assume all the on-screen options/icons are intuitive. I found this app by searching for this type of app, and ones that would work offline (for security/privacy concerns). Can't see a setting to make sure it IS working offline. Even a general web-search of this app, or the publisher, hasn't provided anything more on how to use this app, beyond what I could figure out by playing with it. Read another critical review saying he couldn't get it to do a "Return" (carriage return). I found that if you say "new line" QUICKLY, it will execute the command - but say it slowly, and it will type the words. Same for "new paragraph". I don't want to have to figure out how to use all the features by trial and error - or find I left the security/privacy barndoor open, because I couldn't find a help screen or user guide! On the upside, it captured my first dictations very well. Giving it only 1 star - for now. Would be happy to increase that, if more help with use and security settings is forthcoming..
