The app is unresponsive and untiutitive. It may work well for the Camino from France, but does not cover well the one in Portugal. Furthermore, the app localization is lacking. Different pages are in different languages, which looks weird in 2023.
I used the Buen Camino app for the Camino Portugués (Central route) from Porto and was very impressed. It was easy to use and distance, accommodation and town service information were accurate. Loved that I could change the daily stages to suit my needs. I found it intuitive and easy to use. Only drawback I found was the colour of the route (yellow) and the arrow (white) on the map as my location was not always immediately apparent when I was in the offline version.
Excellent for planning on the Camino routes. The details provided are pretty much up to date and after the reinstatement of some of the developers earlier versions it's a very handy app. I don't use the location GPS so cannot comment on this. Personally the Way's are well marked and in true spirit of a pilgrimage the last thing I want to be doing all day is following my phone. Look up guys and take in the beauty around you
