As a person living abroad, this app has its pros and cons. It's quick and useful for translating images and instructions, but when it comes to actual conversations the result comes out somewhat awkward. I have learned enough Japanese (the language I use it for) to know that the results are just not quite what I need, but not yet enough to achieve everything myself 😅😅. I understand that Japanese is a very very difficult language to translate digitally, but in the end, there are better options.
Love Yandex and love this translator app. I do wish that there were a few features though - It would be so helpful to have a toggle or an option that could let me express in the Russian ты or the вы. It goes on context, but sometimes it is wrong. I would like to be able to tell the app that I would prefer one voice over the other (either because I talk to a friend or because I talk to a group). I can go through and change it, but it isn't convenient. It would also be so helpful to have a toggle for who the "I" is in the text. The default is to the male voice, particularly in past tense, and I would like to be able to write an "I past tense" sentence with a female voice, so a toggle back and forth for that would be equally helpful and useful. It's still far superior to the google translator because it's made by people who understand the context of the language - at this point I'm using it for speed and ease of translation (as well as a bit of laziness in making my own sentences).
Very useful app. It saves favorites, has phrase collection. No ads. The camera does work, but sometimes stops my background music. Haven't tried the voice input, wish it had more voice options, and I tried installing other voices but kind of messed it up. Idk what I'm doing, and I'm sure it's my phone. I think my built in tts is just confusing. Otherwise it seems accurate, I know not all translations are exact, so it's a matter of finding the right words. Useful for русский. спасибо яндекс
