Use it to defend while constantly pressuring your opponent's tower by deploying troops.

Here's a crucial tip: avoid shooting at enemy buildings with your machine guns. They barely scratch structures. Even the weakest copter cards outperform them. Instead, save your machine gun for enemy troops and really on your troops to attack the towers.

And don't make small towers your top priority. Initially, you might think about taking down the two small towers, hoping for a two-star victory when time runs out. But in this game, destroying one small tower activates the Main Tower Machine Gun, which can deal serious damage to your troops. So, if you destroy one small tower, keep pushing from that side and use defensive troops for the other lane. You'll eventually be able to overwhelm your enemy and secure victory.

Managing Your Resources 

Gold is your lifeline in City Rumble. It's crucial for leveling up your cards and getting new ones. Resist the urge to spend your gold on common cards; you can earn them through victories and chest openings. Be patient and save your gold to buy rare cards or upgrade the ones you already have. 

This strategy will level up your game, granting you new chests and free cards. Gems are also valuable; don't waste them on opening chests. If you can't resist, play another game while your chests unlock to stay disciplined.

Crafting Your Deck

When building your deck, remember you can include up to 8 cards. Make sure at least two of those cards can counter the strategies that are currently popular (meta). For example, if Bomb Throwers and GrandMas are causing trouble, add helicopters and small choppers to your deck to deal with them. Always keep an eye on the meta of the game and make adjustments to your deck as necessary.

Every good deck should have a tank and a mini-tank. Tank cards have lots of health and require a hefty amount of energy to deploy. You can use them as a shield while sending low-health, high-damage units after them to attack towers.

They have a respectable level of health, deal a reasonable amount of damage, yet require less energy to use. You also have to make sure your deck includes a mix of Common, Rare, and Epic cards for balanced and efficient Elixir usage.

Efficient Energy Use

During battles, how you use your energy is crucial. Don't deploy all your cards at once, especially at the beginning. It makes you vulnerable to counterattacks. Instead, use one or two cards at a time, saving the rest to defend your base. 

This approach gives you the best chance to damage the small tower and make your way to the main tower. While it's not an absolute rule, smart energy management offers opportunities for powerful counters when executed strategically.

Strategic Card Placement

Where you put your cards matters a lot in City Rumble. For example, if you place a tank card too close to the enemy court at the start of the match, it might take a lot of damage before you can support it with other cards. To get the most out of the energy you spend on the tank, place it close to your towers. 

By the time it reaches the enemy's side, you'll have enough energy to deploy damage-dealing troops for a significant tower assault. When defending, wait for your opponent's cards to cross over to your side before deploying Counter Troops. This way, you benefit from your small towers' support, increasing the chances of your Counter Troops surviving and setting the stage for a powerful counterattack.

Be Patient

In the fast-paced world of City Rumble, patience is a virtue. There will be moments when you'll feel the urge to attack, even when it's not the right time. Sometimes, it's worth taking a few hits on your tower to prepare for a powerful counter. Rushing in during these moments can cost you the match.

Players often make impulsive moves, like using a rocket to damage a small tower, when a ground troop would have been a better defense strategy.

Be Ready to Counterattack

City Rumble is a game of offense, defense, and counterattacks. When an enemy targets your base, seize the opportunity to set up a strong counterattack. Ideally, the troop you deploy should eliminate the incoming rival card while preserving some of its health. Then, add another troop in front of it to act as a shield and inflict more damage.

You must also be prepared to defend against counterattacks from your opponent. This is why it's essential to save some energy in reserve, ensuring you always have a card available to defend against unexpected surprise attacks.

Try to Guess the Enemy's Energy Level

As you get more experience and rise through the trophy road, monitoring your competitor's energy will become increasingly important. If you notice they've expanded several cards and are likely low on energy, it's your cue to launch a devastating assault on their base. They won't have a chance, and they'll have no choice but to watch as their buildings fall to pieces.

Conversely, if your opponent is playing cards conservatively, they may be saving up for a potent offensive move. You can adjust your strategy accordingly.

Use Mind Games

Unless you're waiting for the perfect moment to deploy a specific card for an attack, don't let energy overflow occur. If you're not ready to deploy a troop, consider placing it at the far end of your side behind the main tower to save time and prevent energy wastage.

Always Have Structure Cards

City Rumble includes cards focused solely on building structures, which ignore any troops you deploy. Countering these structure-focused cards with ground troops can be challenging. To safeguard your tower against these formidable foes, consider deploying structure cards like the Jack-in-the-Box. These structures serve as distractions, buying you precious time to deploy additional troops and swiftly eliminate the threat.

Wait for the Double Energy Phase

In every match of City Rumble, there's a pivotal moment at around 2 minutes and 30 seconds. If neither you nor your opponent has managed to destroy the main tower by this point, the energy regeneration rate doubles. This is the perfect time to unleash your energy-heavy cards and launch an overwhelming assault on your opponent.

Spam these cards right on your opponent's doorstep or as close as you can get to their tower. Keep in mind that most high-cost troops can be easily defeated if not adequately supported by spells or other troops. During this phase, energy production is at its peak, making it essential to capitalize on this advantage and push for victory.
