CookieRun: Tower of Adventures - Game Review & Gacha Rates

Our adventure in "CookieRun: Tower of Adventures" begins with GingerBrave escaping from a group of monsters inside the Witch's castle. Shortly after, he meets a star named Sugar Star, who comes from an unknown world—a magical tower called Pancake Tower! Each floor of this tower hides a different world, but these worlds are threatened by the breaking of the Oven’s seal! It will be up to GingerBrave, the bravest cookie ever, to restore peace and tranquility to the Pancake Tower world. However, just as we get to know Sugar Star, Frank, a monster, attacks us, imprisoning Sugar Star! Once we defeat Frank and free Sugar Star, she will open a passage to the Pancake Tower world. This is where our adventure begins!

What is CookieRun: Tower of Adventures

"CookieRun: Tower of Adventures" is a new title in the "CookieRun" franchise. This time, it’s a very dynamic Action Gacha game. We can form a party of 3 different characters to tackle various missions. Each character will have a different Element (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, and Dark), a different Role (Tagger, Fighter, and Support), and a different type of Attack (Smash, Slash, Magic, Ranged, and Assist). Additionally, each character can equip an Artifact that provides more power and a set of Equipment suited to the character type. The game offers a vast array of missions, bosses, and various types of adventures. At the start, we can tackle the Story Mode in both Single Player and Multiplayer with friends. Soon after, we unlock the "Seasoning Dungeons," daily dungeons where we can obtain Exp Potions, Coins, and Ascensionite ores. There’s also "Raid Mode," the “Glass Labyrinth”, and new content added with each patch! Collect many Cookies, create the perfect party, and venture through the floors of Pancake Tower!

Game Content

Story Mode

The first game mode we will unlock is the “Story Mode”. This mode can be played in both Single Player and Multiplayer if we want to tackle it with our friends or new friends we add directly in the game! During Story Mode, we will have to complete various stages, each containing small challenges (e.g., Finish the stage within a time limit, etc.). Completing these challenges will earn us Stars, and once we reach a certain number, we will be able to obtain greater rewards. Additionally, within each stage, we can collect "Bear Jelly" to exchange in the shop for special rewards (e.g., Summon Tickets, SoulStones, Artifacts, Equipment, and Materials). Once we complete the Story Mode on Normal difficulty, we can tackle it in Hard mode to earn even more rewards!

Raid Mode

The "Raid Mode" is a 4-player challenge against a boss. In this mode, we must collaborate with other players to defeat a boss (which changes every week) to earn rewards (Equipment, Gems, etc.). This mode allows us to face the boss at four different difficulty levels. If we manage to complete it at the highest difficulty, we can participate in a ranking that awards prizes based on our position.

Seasoning Dungeons

In the "Seasoning Dungeon," we can consume Heart Jelly (stamina) to earn various rewards depending on the Dungeon we choose to tackle:

Dungeons

• Hexagon Bee Forest: In this dungeon, we can obtain a large number of Exp Potions to power up our characters.

• Hangster Hideout: In this dungeon, we can earn a large number of Coins.

• The Ascensionite Mines: In this dungeon, we can obtain Ascensionite Ores essential for fully upgrading all our favorite characters.

Characters & Artifact, Equipments

Characters & Artifact

Every character in "CookieRun: Tower of Adventures" needs to be upgraded and properly equipped to perform their best during adventures. Let’s see how to make our characters more powerful and what their main characteristics are.

Element

• Each Character in the game has an innate Element (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, and Dark). By using characters suitable for the stage we are about to face, we will deal more damage and be able to defeat enemies more easily.

Roles

• Tagger: Specialized in providing support to charge the elemental bar faster and deal significant damage.

• Fighter: Deal direct damage to the enemy, both single target and AoE (Area of Effect).

• Support: Offer support to the allied team either defensively (Shields, Healing for allies) or offensively (Debuffs, Slowdowns, Stuns, etc.).

Type of Attack

• Smash = Low Range attack type, more Single target

• Slash = Mid Range attack type, more AoE

• Magic = Wide Range of Spells

• Ranged = Long Range Attacks

• Assist = Mixed Range of Attacks

Level Up

• The most basic way of making your Cookies stronger is through the level up system. Cookies can reach a Maximum of level 60. Leveling up increases Cookies Attributes. 

Ascension

• You can ascend Cookies at LvL 30/40/50. To ascend Cookies you need Ascensionite of the correct Element.

Promotion

• You can consume Cookie’s Soulstones to increase their Rarity

Artifact

• Artifacts are special Equipment you can obtain by Draws. Each Artifact can drastically increase the power of your Cookies by adding special abilities and attributes. There’s also some restriction on Equipping Epic+ Artifacts, you must match the corresponding Role.

Equipments

Just like characters and Artifacts, “Equipment” is also a fundamental part of our heroes' growth. There are 4 pieces of equipment in total: a Weapon, a Headwear, a Bodywear, and Legwear. Like characters, equipment must also be upgraded:

Level Up

• Using Artisan's Sugar, we can increase the level of each piece of equipment up to 50.

Promotion

• By using duplicate pieces of equipment (dupes), we can increase the rarity of our equipment, thereby enhancing its stats.

Hidden Power

• Using a Scroll of Potential can unlock bonus attributes for your Equipment. You can only use Scrolls of Potential on EPIC or better Equipment. The Hidden Power unlocked is random.

Breakdown

• You can destroy unused equipment to obtain materials to craft new Equipment.

Gacha Rates

Dashing Start Gacha!

The “Dashing Start Gacha” is the first Banner you have in the game. This banner is a Special One, since you can only summon up to 40 times and obtain a Guaranteed EPIC cookie (Chili Pepper Cookie, Dark Choco Cookie or Rye Cookie). If you obtain an Epic Cookie even before reaching 40 Pulls, the Banner will close. You can summon on this Banner with both Basic Cookie Ticket or Gems (300 for 1 Single pull and 3000 For a x10). Here’s the rates:

• Epic Cookie Soulstone = 14%

• Rare Cookie = 12%

The “Cream Soda Cookie” (& Rye Cookie) is the first Rate Up Banner for Characters you have in the game. In this banner you can obtain both New Cookie or Soulstone, with an enhanced chance to receive the featured Cookie. You are also Guaranteed to obtain the featured Cookie within 100 Draws. You can summon on this Banner with both Special Cookie Ticket or Gems (300 for 1 Single pull and 3000 For a x10). Here’s the rates:

Characters & Soulstone

• Epic Cookie = 3% (Featured 1.5%)

• Epic Cookie Soulstone = 14% (Featured 7%)
