As the year comes to an end, so does the Genshin Impact 2.3 version. Like before every update, we have a new Livestream giving all the events coming up in the next update. And today, the miHoYo streamed the Genshin Impact 2.4 Announcement Livestream revealing the new characters and events coming to us. If you didn't have the time to catch up with the live stream, we have the whole thing summarized for you here. So let's get into it.
Just like the last version, we will have more reruns in this update as well. But it comes with a twist; three characters will rerun. During the first half of the update, the first banners consist of the new 5-star character Shenhe, a new 4-star character Yun Jin. The second banner of the first half will be the return of Xiao with his first rerun after almost a year.
In the second half of the update, Zhongli and Ganyu will have their separate banners. Players have wanted these three reruns for way too long. It was already speculated that Xiao and Ganyu are coming back, but the addition of Zhongli may force players to revoke their F2P status. The 4-stars of these banners are yet to be announced. The pity will be shared between both banners running next to each other, much as the 2.3 reruns. Let's learn more about the new characters coming to the game.
Shenhe is the new 5-star that will be joining the game. She bears the Cryo vision and uses Polearm as the weapon of her choice. She was revealed around a month ago, coinciding with Genshin Impact 2.3. She is Cloud Retainer's disciple but not an adepti like Ganyu. Living among adepti as a human is difficult. Still, Shenhe possesses a unique constitution, a very strong will, and a tremendous skill for adepti arts, all of which have earned her the adepti's respect. She is a supporting character and would be more effective with an all-Cryo team. Once she releases, we will provide you with the perfect build for her.
Yun Jin is the new 4-star being added to the game. She bears the Geo Vision and uses Polearm as the weapon of her choice. Yun Jin works at the Heyu Tea House as a renowned dancer, singer, and brewer. Yun Jin is noted for her energetic and dynamic performances, lovely singing voice, and elaborate costumes. She will be a support geo character, and once she drops, we will release a proper build guide for her.
With every new 5-star being introduced to the game comes their BiS weapon. For Shenhe, we have a new polearm being added to the game called the "Calamity Queller." The weapon will be available in the weapon banner running alongside the Shenhe banner. It is a 5-star Polearmwith a base attack of 49 and an attack sub-stat of 3.6%. Its passive reads: Gain a 12% bonus to all elemental DMG. After utilizing an Elemental Skill for 20 seconds, obtain Consummation, which increases ATK by 3.2% per second. This ATK boost can stack up to six times. Consummation's ATK boost is twice when the character equipped with this weapon is not on the field.
After the longest time, we are finally getting new outfits for our characters. The last time we got outfits were during the Genshin Impact 1.6 Version- the Golden Apple Archipelago. During that update, we got two new skins for Jean and Barbara. The Barbara skin was free and obtainable after completing an event, while the Jean skin cost money to buy, just with a bit of a discount. Both skins are now available to purchase through the in-game store for those who missed out on the event.
Similarly, we are getting skins for Ningguang and Keqing during the Latern Rite festival in the 2.4 Update. The Ningguang skin "Orchid's Evening Gown" will be free for all players after completing a certain event, and the Keqing skin "Opulent Splendor" will cost real money but will be on discount during this update.
A whole new area will be added to the Genshin Impact called "Enkanomiya." It won't be available directly on the map since it's located in an abyss under Watatsumi Island. Enkanomiya dipped below Inazuma due to several incidents, resulting in the area being dark virtually all of the time, harming the livelihood there. Even with the struggles, they built their civilization under the serpent god who illuminated Enkanomiya.
It will be incredibly gloomy when you initially reach Enkanomiya, but the world will become brighter as you progress. You can also manually switch between day and night with the help of a tower in Byakuyakoku- DainichiMikoshi, where you will have to solve a puzzle. There will also be an introductory quest for Enkanomiya to explore the region properly.
New regions mean new bosses, and there are tons in Enkanomiya. They are as follows: BathysmalVishap, Abyss Heralds, Abyss Lectors, and another Abyss Lector with a Pyro Element.
One of the Lantern Rite challenges is the "Oceanic Defender," where you have to fight a boss who looks just like Osial, who is said to be very intimidating and strong, so players need to be prepared to face him.
The 2.4 update brings back the beloved Lantern Rite festival that will take place in Liyue. With the festival comes many events that will take place, so let's look at each of them.
The players get to make their fireworks from scratch this time. You will receive an object called "Launch Tube." When you place the Launch Tube, you must select "Smelt Firework" to create your firework. You have complete control over the color, size, and height of the fireworks, and the higher the quality of the fireworks, the better the result.
In this mini-game, you need to rotate a block of "Shadow Lantern" and form a shadow that makes sense. It will also have a progress bar below, showing how close you are to solving it.
When the jade chamber was destroyed, many items were scattered around in the ocean, and it's your job to collect them. You have to use the wave rider over the ocean and fight against treasure hoarders on the shore. There is a catch, though; the treasure hoarders are buffed, so to defeat them easily, you can pick up one of the "Quelling Firecrackers," which you can then throw at them, which deals damage and debuffs them. There is also another event of taking down a balloon with the help of a wave rider.
Just like the previous Lantern Rite festival, we get to choose a free 4-star from one of these- Xingqui, Yun Jin, Beidou, Xiangling, Ningguang, Xinyan, Yanfei, and Chongyun. This event is more like a reward for completing the previous three events.
The daily login event is back to reward you with Mora, Heros Wit, and most importantly, 10 Intertwined Fates.
A challenge event in which players transport various potions to various domains, where the potions grant character bonuses. There are four stages with three different levels, and each level gets difficult. Many trial characters would be provided to use alongside your characters.
You are asked to take the little bake-danuki, Kichiboushi, out of the forest to train him. You'll take to Mondstadt and Liyue since he's never been there. Earn primogems and much more rewards by traveling with your buddy!
The iconic Windtrace event makes a comeback in the Genshin Impact Version 2.4 with many more playable locations. If you haven't played the event before, it is a hide-and-seek event that you can play with your friends over co-op.
This version brings two new hangout events involving Ningguang and Yun Jin.
This update also brings a new Archon quest about restoring the Jade Chamber.
The update is set to come out on the 5th of January, 2022. Till then, we still have a lot to finish in the 2.3 version and a whole lot more to look forward to in the next one. Praying that the gacha gods will be on your side.
