Genshin Impact 3.0 Update - The Mourns A Thousand Rose Brings

The Genshin 3.0 Patch Update - The Mourns A Thousand Rose Brings - brought with it 3 new distinct features that we need to explore - The Sumeru Region, The Dendro Element’s Introduction, and finally, The Special Events.

The Sumeru Region

The 4th Major Region of the game and the land of Wisdom, Sumeru Region is the place where the game’s 4th story chapter takes place and is one of the most unique regions in the game’s history yet. Governed by the God of Wisdom and is the land of the Dendro Element, Sumeru is divided into 2 major parts - The Rainforest and The Desert - with the prior of the 2 being available for players to explore in version 3.0 onwards.

In Sumeru, players will encounter mythical creatures and interesting new traveling mechanics, helping players to explore the region quickly and experience the best of time in the region of Dendro.

Some notable mentions of the traveling mechanics are the Four-Leaf Sigil, which allows players to fast travel throughout the world by clicking the 4-leaf symbol.

Another notable traveling mechanic is that of the Blooms around the world, which requires Electro and Hydro to activate, helping explorers to bounce on high places with ease. Therefore, be sure to bring Hydro and Electro while you are out exploring the region of Sumeru

Finally, players should be on the lookout for Dendroculus as per usual, helping upgrade the Dendro Archon’s Statue of The Seven and help them gain valuable rewards.

New Element - Dendro

While it is stated as a “New” Element, Dendro has been in the game since the very start of Genshin Impact’s life span. However, the Dendro element has historically only been used by the enemies against the players, with the introduction of the Sumeru region, the land of the Dendro Element, now players can try out the Dendro Element for themselves and see how it performs for themselves.

The Dendro Element Reactions are divided into 3 major reactions: Burning, Blooming and Catalyzed, coincides with when Dendro comes in contact with 3 different elements: Pyro, Hydro and Electro.

Burning occurs when a Pyro element comes into contact with Dendro, dealing massive amounts of Damage over time (or DoT) damage to the enemy throughout the duration that Dendro lasts on the enemy. This is the simplest reaction to make with Dendro and is the one with the highest damage potential.

Blooming occurs when a Hydro element comes into contact with Dendro, producing a special seed that falls onto the ground. This special seed will explode 3s later if it is untouched by the player or the enemies, or will explode immediately if it comes into contact with another element such as Pyro or Electro. This reaction is the most versatile reaction which helps players to deal more damage to the enemies by applying other reactions on top of existing ones.

Finally, Catalyze occurs when an Electro element comes into contact with Dendro, making the enemies suffer a special debuff called Quicken. During the Quicken debuff period, if additional Dendro is applied to the enemies, they will take additional Dendro damage from the Spreading reaction, dealing massive amounts of Dendro damage to them over a short period of time.

The Special Events

During the duration of the 3.0 Update, there will be special events available for all players. Clearing these special limited timed events will reward players with character upgrading materials, mora, and most importantly Primogems.

The most notable event during this patch’s duration is the Graven Innocence Event, which provide players with a Crown of Insight and a FREE 4* Bow User of the Dendro Element - Collei. Clearing this event and obtaining Collei will help players experience the Dendro Element for themselves and have a taste of what is to come for the future of Genshin Impact’s combat.

Genshin Impact 3.0 New Banners - Tighnari, Collie, and Dori

Going alongside the 5 weeks period of the 3.0 patch is 4 rate-up banners with 4 different 5* Characters on rate up, in addition to 3 new characters introduced into the game - the 5* Tighnari, the 4* Collie, and the 4* Dori.

Tighnari

Tighnari is the first ever 5* of the Dendro Element and he wields a bow with an amazingly versatile kit for players to experience.

Being the first Dendro 5* character, Tighnari excels at applying the Dendro Element to the enemies with his wide-ranged E attack, in addition to his fast-charging charge attacks. In addition, he also buffs the damage potential of Dendro element reactions with his special EM buffs from his talent, making him an amazing Dendro Element enabler for other characters to proc reactions.

Collei

Like Tighnari, Collei is a 4* Dendro Element Bow User excels at the task of applying the Dendro element for others to utilize for elemental reactions.

Collei’s E attack is essentially a boomerang, which deals damage to all enemies within its projectile range. Her Q is a special large field of attack, applying the Dendro Element to all enemies within range for a long period of time, helping other characters to applying the Dendro Reactions and dealing massive amount of damage

Should You Pull

The answer is a massive NO. Unlike previous patches where the new characters are extremely desirable due to them being Limited-time available characters, all 3 of Tighnari, Collei and Dori will all be added into the Permanent pool at the end of this patch, making the prospect of having to roll for them now a very easy choice to pass up, as you might get them in the future by simply losing the 50/50 for a 5* character. In addition, Collei is free from the event in this patch, making it even less desirable for players to try on their banners unless they want extra copies of her.

However, if players want to fully experience the new Dendro element or are just simply in love with the new characters, they are strong enough to invest in to be pulled for.
