Factors to Consider In Combat

Honkai Impact’s combat system is extremely intricate and well-developed, which results in many factors that players can take advantage of to strengthen their teams and improve their damage output in a stage in order to clear hard contents. Some of these factors include Elemental Types, Valkyries Classes, Buffs, Debuffs, and QTE management.

Elemental Types

In Honkai Impact, the Elemental Type of Valkyries are divided into 4 different elements: Physical, Ice, Fire and Lightning. Each Valkyrie is divided into one of these 4 elements and their attacks will deal the elemental damage of the same element that they had been assigned.

 

Specific game modes and bosses require different types of elemental damage to be able to quickly clear the content, as such players should focus on making 4 different teams consisting of only valkyries corresponding to each of the 4 elements in order to be able to clear all the contents in the game as best as they can.

Valkyries Classes

Back in the days, Valkyries in the game were not divided into any classes. However, with the introduction of the new Support Role, the meta option for most teams in the game have become as follows: 1 Main DPS Character and 2 Support type Characters.

It is important for players to know that in order for the Valkyries to be considered a support class Valkyrie and unlock their support skills, the character would need to reach at least A Rank status and unlock the SP Skill tab.

Buffs, Debuffs and QTE

Different Valkyries provide different buffs and elemental skill and damage enhancements while they are on the field or when they are off-field depending on the class type of the Valkyries themselves. Players should take these buffs and debuffs into consideration when attempting to clear a stage as fast as possible.

Characters QTE also plays an important role in helping improve the characters and the teams’ general output. Most characters have QTEs that switch them into the field to deal instant damage to the enemies, however, some SP type Valkyries don't switch into the field when their QTE is used, helping both maintain constant DPS from the main DPS and supplement their damage with special buffs.

How to Build a Proper Meta Team

A proper meta team currently for all elements in Honkai Impact consist of 3 different factors: 1 Main DPS Character, 1 Sub DPS/ Support Character and 1 Support Characters with an off-field QTE that have the ability to buff the entire team.

Some requirements that need to be fulfilled if you are to make a proper meta team are the Main DPS’ potential to carry the entire team’s DPS requirement when under Supports by the 2 supporting characters. If the Main DPS is not up to par with their DPS output and can not carry the team’s DPS, players might need to replace 1 of the support for a Sub-DPS Valkyrie to improve the team’s damage to clear the stage.

It is also important that players need to know and familiarize themselves with a team’s combat flow and how to switch in other characters at the right time to apply debuffs and buffs for the entire team in order to reach the maximum damage output.

Some Team Recommendations

Physical Damage Team

For a Physical Damage team, it is important to note that this team is universally good for all contents since it isn’t as restrictive as elemental damage teams in most contents, meaning you can bring this team in all contents and still perform relatively well with good damage output and good points value.

 

For the main DPS slot for Physical Damage team, Herrscher of Sentience is the best option as she not only deals immense amounts of damage, she can also stop time, bind the enemies in place and apply debuffs to enemies, making them take more physical damage over time. A more F2P option would be Herrscher of the Void

 

For the Support slot, Griseo and Apocalypse Theresa are the best options to consider.

 

Fire Elemental Damage Team

For Fire Team, The best Valkyrie for the main DPS slot is Azure Empyrea Fu Hua with her high Fire damage output and explosive fists. Fu Hua battlesuits in general are good fire DPS for players to consider when using the Fire Elemental Team.

 

For the Support slot, Fire Elemental Team currently doesn’t contain any supporting characters for the team, so it is better for players to substitute the spots with 2 Sub DPS characters such as Himeko or Kiana.

Lightning Elemental Damage Team

For the Lightning Elemental Damage team, Herrscher of Thunder is by far the best option for the main DPS role with her lightning quick kit and amazing dps capabilities in addition to the ability to stun the enemies.

For Support Slots, Eden and Fischl are the 2 best options for this team, enabling the team the ability to deal both close range and long range damage in addition to providing the main DPS with valuable buffs.

Ice Elemental Damage Team

For Ice Elemental Damage Team, the recently introduced Herrscher of Human Ego Elysia is by far the best DPS for this team. Not only is she a long ranged damage dealer capable of freezing the enemies with ease using 3 consecutive charge shots, she is also one of the best DPS in general in the entire game up to this point.

For Support slots, Bronya Haxxor Bunny and Pedofelis are the best options to go with Elysia as they both provide off field DPS potential for the entire team and also help the main DPS deal extra damage against frozen enemies.
