Let’s play Punishing Gray Raven on PC and find out together!
Punishing Gray Raven’s brand new Evernight Beat update can be divided into 3 different sections - the Extra Story Chapter, the New Characters Interludes and special challenge and farming stages in addition to an event shop
Available from this update onwards, the newly introduced Extra Story Chapter - Evernight Beat allows players to go through the events leading up to the introduction and subsequent joining of Roland : Flambeau into the Gray Raven squad. Go through the extra story chapter and obtain many valuable materials for character upgrading and special currencies for gacha in the game.
There are 2 difficulties for the Extra story chapter - Normal and Hidden with the Hidden difficulty requiring players to invest heavily into their characters so be sure to be prepared for this challenge.
During the Update duration, a new character interludes chapter will be available for all players that are lv 40 and above and have access to character interludes.
Clearing these character interludes provides players with extra background information for the new character introduced during this Update - Roland : Flambeau. In addition, playing the interlude chapters allow players to playtest the new characters of this update, allowing them to have a better understanding of their playstyles and help decide if you should roll for the new characters.
Clearing these Character Interlude Chapters also reward players with a lot of gacha currencies, so make sure to clear them while they are available during this Update since once this Update has
passed, you will need to own the characters to access these Interlude Chapters again.
In addition to brand new permanent contents added into the game like the story chapter and the character interludes, we also receive Event Specific Farming Stages that only last during the Update period and will be gone forever after the update has ended.
Farming these stages will reward players with special currencies that they can then use to exchange for various rewards from the Event Shop such as EXP pods, Cogs, Brand New Set of Memories and special event exclusive items.
Farming the Special Event stages will reward players with special currencies that they can then use to exchange for various rewards from the Event Shop such as EXP pods, Cogs, Memories.
Players should prioritize getting the event exclusive 6* Memories for Roland : Flambeau from the event shop first and foremost as they cost a large amount of event currencies. Once players have exchanged for all of the shards, players then can priorities other upgrading materials such as EXP, Cogs Boxes, 6* Memories, etc.
It is also important to note that special Memories that suit Roland : Flambeau combat prowess will be discounted during the event’s period as well, so players should exchange 1 set of that special memory set in order to boost his combat capabilities.
Together with the regular update contents, the Nier:Automata and Punishing Gray Raven collaboration is making its grand return in this patch for a limited time, rerunning the 3 characters 2B, 9S and A2.
2B makes her returns as a limited collaboration construct on the banner starting Dec 23 and her pity counter from the previous banner will carry over to the brand new rerun banner.
2B is an attacker construct that specializes in dealing physical damage to enemies in large areas. She can also damage enemies from a far distance away, allowing players to clear stages of enemies quickly and efficiently.
As the nature of a collaboration construct being extremely difficult to obtain, if you don’t have 2B, THIS IS YOUR HER, therefore, players should focus their resources on rolling for the Nier:Collab Units.
Available for free during the last collaboration event period, 9S is making his return as a limited collaboration gacha character, meaning players who haven’t gotten him from the previous event will need to pull for him this time in order to unlock him as a playable character.
9S is a support construct that specializes in healing allies based on the number of hits his abilities manage to land on enemies, dealing damage and healing allies in the process. His playstyle is very fast and his kit buffs the damage output of other Nier collaboration constructs, therefore, having him will benefit your team greatly.
A2 is a tank type construct that specializes in dealing damage to a single target, dealing massive amounts of damage when she enters her berserk mode. Like 9S, she will return as another collaboration limited gacha character, meaning players will also need to roll for her if you previously haven’t unlocked her for free.
A2 is essentially the main DPS option for Nier combat team, able to deal damage to enemies when she’s in her berserk mode and dealing range damage thanks to her robot, allowing for even spread of damage to all enemies on the field, allowing for fast damage to clear stages.
Roland is a moderately good Transcendent that specializes in dealing Fire Elemental damage to enemies, with high mobility and damage output.
Roland is not as powerful as his boss, despite his ability to deal good damage. His being a Transcendent extremely limits his usability and viability in overall content. His kit revolves around moving quickly throughout the map, throwing grenades and crowd controlling enemies to deal massive amounts of fire damage to all enemies in his reach.
His Ultimate skill deals massive amounts of damage to all enemies within a big area, marking them and making them take damage over time from his burn effect.
Yes, You Should on the Nier Collaboration Banners. This is your last possible time to roll for the Nier Collaboration constructs ever in the Global server. Players should take this last chance to try and obtain all of the Nier Characters as soon as possible for collection purposes and to make a brand new viable team.
