Punishing Gray Raven Top Mistakes You Should Not Make

2021-07-22

Punishing: Gray Riven is the latest Action RPG game made by Kuro games. Punishing: Gray Raven is an extremely fast-paced combo-based hack and slashes competitive action game that has been compared with the likes of Honkai Impact 3rd and Nier Automata. The comparison is due to its similar focus on skill-based action mechanics that is hardly seen on mobiles. To play this game on PC, you can download Punishing Gray Raven for free on LDPlayer.

Punishing Gray Raven Mistakes to Avoid Intro

The game can become complicated, but practice makes your skills shine eventually but don't let it be marred by some mistakes you could've avoided if you knew about them earlier and which is what this guide is about. Here you will learn more about a few crucial mistakes that you can easily avoid. For more information, read our other Guides.

Mistakes You Wish You Knew to Avoid:

We have compiled an essential list of different factors and some mistakes you must avoid to speed up your progression instead of impeding it. If you follow them and take notes, we are sure this would benefit you in the game's long run.

Spending Time on Rerolling:

One mistake that players typically make is to do a lot of rerolling; we consider it should be avoided if possible. Players typically prefer to reroll to get one of the S-Ranks early on, but what people should be focusing on is doing the weeklies and other missions to get as many Black Cards as possible.

Don’t Spread Your Skill Upgrades:

One big mistake you will make during your early to mid-game is to spread the skill points around. Remember, even if you can always farm Skill Points from the Resource mode, you don't need to upgrade every skill on your supporting Structures if, for farming, you'll mainly use your main Structure. The reason we say this is because you will only use other than your main DPS and Farmer unit, both of your Support units, for their QTE skills, and that's what you should upgrade to.

Don’t Waste Overclock Materials:

You can feel safe in leveling up both your weapon and current memories to 25 because you can feed them to better gear later on. However, you could avoid overclocking lower-level gear that you don't plan to keep since you'll need many overclock materials in the early game, and you won't be using any non 6* gear in your builds other than as a bridge. You are only going to and should use 6* memories as your end-game target, as you will start getting them soon when you unlock different domains.

Try to hold out if you can, and if you can't, you can overclock one or two 5* memories for your farmer to make the farming faster. The fewer overclocking you do, the better it will be in the long run.

Don’t Worry About Leveling Weapons:

The best thing about the leveling system in PGR is that you can level your 4* or 5* weapons to progress in the game. Later on, when you find a 6* weapon, you can recycle the leveled-up weapon and get 70% of the resources back from that, which is a good return on your investment. Recycling helps in returning the materials you spend on weapons, and this way, you can avoid a total loss from your early game.

Don’t Spend Black Cards for Stamina When You can Play Pain Cage:

You might be wondering and asking if you don't spend black cards for Stamina, should I stop playing like every other game with the same stamina mechanics? Wrong. You have other avenues to spend your time in and have tons of fun along the way, plus getting better loot in the long run.

Punishing Gray Raven Mistakes to Avoid Have Fun

Go to the Challenger's tab, where many game modes don't require Stamina but instead have limited entries gated if you want to save the score or not. CHallernger's tab is where competition with other players comes into play, and you can try to earn a better score than your peers. After each clear, you need to pay attention to the options. You can always cancel or leave if you feel the score isn't your best performance. Remember that you can't always override the saved score, so always save a score below what you can achieve.

Pain Cage is where you can play for an unlimited time to get the Best score and master your character without spending Stamina.

Wasting Your Stamina:

You should spend all Stamina finishing the story mode as early as possible to reach the Your level cap, or you can't go any further without making some improvements to your gear and unlocking most of the features that the game has to offer.

You also need to decide what kind of Player you want to be that is, if you want to advance fast, you can spend your black Cards to refresh your Stamina if you have time each day. Your account level gains 1 XP for every Stamina you consume, which matters because your Account level also controls when specific content is unlocked and your Structure level cap is.

If you care only about moving fast, instead of having more characters to play with, you can use the Black cards on the initial beginner's banners and other available banners. The beginner's banner gives you a guaranteed S-Rank Character as soon as you do your first 40 Pulls, so you can be this sort of Player who'll get one S-Rank from the beginner's pull and one from the S-Rank Selector and then use some of the black cards for refreshing Stamina. Our recommendation above seems appealing to those who want to collect and play with a few different Structures and don't need to worry about advancing fast.

You don't need to spend Stamina early on Resource mode other than the Military Hardware section as there you will have chances to get Overclock material which you'll need to enhance your weapons. The second-place recommendation is Combat supply for 6* memory drops. Don't spend your Stamina on a resource other than a high drop chance of 6* memories. Later on, you can prioritize your spending depending on what you want to tackle first. Powering up your weapon is the first thing you can do, as it's much faster to do so when focusing on a single weapon.

Don’t Play Phantom Cage with a Single Team:

Make sure you separate your best characters in Phantom Pain Cage. Please do not use them all on one team; you'll notice that all the characters in the Phantom Pain Cage have a counter on them because each can only enter PPC a limited number of times. You can learn more in detail about PPC in our Pain Cage Guide. If you use all your best characters on a single entry, all your other entries are going to be scuffed, and you probably won’t earn the maximum rewards.

Don’t Save a Bad Score:

You can always come back later as you have unlimited tries before you want to save your score. Coming back later is self-explanatory. You won’t consume an entry, and you can always come back to try later. Just keep aware of the reset of entries.

Power Level Rating for Content:

Don't be scared of the rating the game gives you in the preparation screen, which matches the required or recommended CP against one of your Structures having the highest. This game requires more skill than CP level, so most of the time, you can efficiently finish the content without the need to invest in CP.

Don’t Forget to Turn on Support:

There is another mistake in the battle preparation screen that you need to avoid; you should always turn on the support toggle. The support essentially enables you to have people jump into your fights if you’re having a hard time; that way, you can have help on all your story missions. Help is essential in story missions because this game can become challenging, making this a very cool feature.

Don’t forget Your Dailies:

Daily missions only take about 10 minutes of your time, so don’t worry about doing them every day being a chore. All you have to do is follow what the game wants you to do.

Do Co-op Solo

  • Co-op in PGR can start with playing a solo Structure.

Buy a free stamina pod along with Stamina with currency.

  • Go to the shop to get your daily free stamina pod
  • You can refill your Stamina with cards, which gets more expensive every subsequent time; you can do it ten times each day, but it isn't a bad deal if you do it once a day.

Buy shards in the shop every day.

  • Don't forget to buy shards every day in the shop; this is a great resource to evolve your character as there is one every day.

Farm two shards each day

  • You can farm two fragments per character each day; it is recommended to farm them all whenever you have the opportunity. The auto farm button will appear after you finish the first clear on the character's stage.

Give gifts to your Lobby Raven.

  • Touch them anywhere on the main screen so that you can give them gifts. You can find gifts in the dorm. Each character has their favorite gift, which gives them more affection points.

Dorm Interaction

  • Keep a lookout which Chibis want to do what and comply to gain more hearts. You can interact with them three times each 4 hours.
  • Jumping characters will most likely give you a gift.
  • Dorms are the best way to farm tokens for Costumes.

Clearing Warzone

Burn the remaining Stamina

Don’t Forget to Farm and Use Skulls from Pain Cage:

Skulls are one of the essential resources that you can't ignore. Skulls are the prime reason to do Pain Cage. With skulls, you can buy Shards for different characters. Don’t use the skulls to buy fragments one by one; wait until you have enough to buy all 30 in one go. Saving is to avoid an S-Rank accident from standard banners and instantly nullify all your Pain Cage efforts.

To get all the fragments in one go, you'll need 500 skulls; this might take around 2-3 months, depending on your Pain Cage rankings.

Reroll Bounties for Best Rewards:

Reroll the bounties you receive for maximum rewards. You're not stuck with the first three that the game shows you, but you do have limited rerolls. Shooting for S-grade bounties with cards to pull for characters. Don't get too greedy before the timer expires, or you may be left with picking bounties below S-Grade, and that's a big bummer.

Don’t Forget to Spend Dorm Time with Chibis:

You should always go back to the dorm to check on your Chibi Structures and tap them around to get some gifts. You get the achievement and other rewards from spending the Dorm time. Extra effort to push your power is not a wasted time.

Don't Forget to Complete the Set Pieces:

Getting the set-piece to build done from the memories you loot, as soon as possible as these are the initial investment you have to do, we can’t stress this enough. The drop rates for the 6* memories that you want to collect from the Combat Supply stage are;

  • AE-1 00.00%
  • AE-1 04.11%
  • AE-1 08.23%
  • AE-1 17.14%

Conclusion:

Everyone makes mistakes, but if the mistakes impede your progress, there will remain a sour taste that takes a while to go away and might even take a 6* or two to alleviate your mood. Why not just be prepared and not make mistakes in the first place?
