The creator of the Ragnarok game series has come out with a new MMORPG game Ragnarok X: Next Generation, which is one of the best RPG games out there. Ragnarok X: Next Generation is a latest android game that adapts to all its previous successors brings a few new things to the table when it comes to the MMORPG genre.
This guide is about how to do Mining and what are the most important aspects of Mining in Ragnarok X Next Generation. You can learn about Mining with this guide and read our other guides to understand the grander scheme of things and how Mining fits into all of it, and don’t forget to download it on PC.
This guide is about Mining materials; these materials have a wide range of different uses such as Upgrading, Refining and Smelting. Mining requires Stamina; each time, it consumes two Stamina. You are also required to buy one of the pickaxes as your mining tool. There are a few different kinds of pickaxes in the game: Normal Pickaxe, Advance Pickaxe, and Alloy Pickaxe. Pickaxes are consumable items as once you consume a Pickaxe's durability, you'll need to get a new one to use.
Let’s delve into each of the important aspects of Mining in Ragnarok X Next Generation in detail.
In the Life Skills menu and under Mining, you can find all the information you need to do proper and successful Mining. The mining menu informs you of your level at the moment, the experience required for the next level and the Encyclopedia of minable rocks. If you click on one of the ingredients, you'll see detailed information on it, for example;
Mining items are mostly used for crafting and smelting. You use them as one of the components for crafting enchant, enhance and refine materials. For example, when you want to craft a Pharacon I, you need 10 levels 1 strengthening material, while for Sharpening Enchantment Stone, you need 15 Mesupellium and so on. You can find all ore veins in Mjolnir dead pit 2F.
While Mining, you get XP for mining Life Skills. On a higher level of your Mining, you can mine higher level veins. For example, at level 5, you can farm Muspellium, which can be found at level 9 mine resources and specifically at Mineral Vei level 9.it has higher uses and requires more than one tool to mine it. While at level 3, you can mine Gold Ore which requires Level 8 mine resources and can be mined at Ore Vein level 8 or Mineral Vein level 9.
There are a few types of pickaxes mainly written below;
Normal Pickaxe – Mining tool. A completely normal pickaxe. It’s not a bad tool. A normal pickaxe has never been used as a smelting material to produce an advanced Pickaxe. The normal Pickaxe is a regular mining tool that you can buy at Sundries shops in all the major cities. Costs 18,000 Zenies.
Advanced Pickaxe – An advanced Pickaxe that is more comfortable and efficient. It can decrease the time spent mining mines. Advanced Pickaxe is a tool made by craftsmen and helps you to mine faster than the normal one. Even though it's three times expensive, it’s still worth it. Also bought at Sundries Shops. Costs 54,000 Zenies.
Tungsten Gold Pickaxe – Mining tools, a sturdy pickaxe, can deal with more advanced mineral veins. Used to gather 9th level veins. Costs about 1,50,000
Advanced Tungsten Gold Pickaxe – Mining tools, more advanced tungsten gold mining picks, speed up the speed of Mining. Used to collect 9th level veins and shorten the mining time. Costs 2,70,000 Zenies.
Alloy Pickaxe – Special tools, Mining at enriched veins will automatically consume this item and obtain many minerals. No cost can only be gotten through Glory Pass reward or from a Crystal Shop located in Alberta City.
To mine, you need pickaxes. Normal and advanced pickaxes are for level 1-8 veins. Advanced pickaxes are faster but cost 300% more than normal ones. You can buy pickaxes from the Sundries store to buy other supplies you need for your other life skills. You get the same number of mats with both; you’re just done sooner with advanced ones. So, which one is the best, depends on your Zeny spending. Gold pickaxes are only for level 9 veins. As you must have level 9 of your mining skill, it will take a long time before you need it.
So this is how the Mining works; you go to the mining menu and click on the mining location of the particular ingredient you want to farm, and auto-pathing will take you there. For example, Level 1 strengthening material is found in 4 places, Ore veins levels 1-3 and Rich Veins from chapter 1. As soon as the auto-pathing takes you to the vein location, the mining button pops up, and you can start Mining.
You can start by choosing a pickaxe to use, and Mining works automatically. You can do other stuff with your time while Mining is going on and until the pickaxes finish. The second thing that runs out is Stamina, which is used for all of your Life Skills.
Each mining attempt can cost up to 4 stamina, lower Stamina for lower veins and lower worth items. The higher the ingredient you are Mining, the more items can be made out of it or used for them. One thing to remember, the number of Stamina that you spend directly equates to the amount of XP you get from mining that single time.
You sometimes get 'Alloy mining pickaxes' as Glory Pass rewards, and you might be wondering what they're used for in the game. You can use them on special nodes (Mjolnir pit 2F too). You get 100 mats at once for the higher-level ore vein that you are Mining. It uses the same amount of Mining as any other ax. Takes 4 sec to mine when using Alloy pickaxes. So, in short, you get many mined mats for a very short time, though the Pickaxe is consumed in the process. Remember, you can also get Alloy Pickaxe from the Crystals vendor.
You can dismantle the higher-level mining items/ingredients to lower-level ones and vice versa. For vice versa, you use the synthesize command. You get 2 levels 1 items for each of the level 2 items, but you need to use 3 level 1 to get 1 level 2 item. You can hit the max button to dismantle as many ingredients as you want or have as it’s a very quick process. So, in a way, you always lose one-third by using this system, but higher-level items are often hard to sell, and if you include taxes, the loss is far less.
Now you might be wondering what Life Skill you should invest your Stamina on. You go to Exchange Material Center and go into items and further into Mining-related, look at the prices. Mining materials have lost extremely in value. You can currently get around 3-5 times the number of crystals from Fishing and gathering as you are getting from Mining. The primary reason behind that is Fishing is a QTE while Mining is AFK, so players want less time spent on farming ingredients and would pay for them rather than spent time on QTE.
We have called it secret Mining or hidden Mining because this location for the concentrated ore is not mentioned in the glossary of the mining menu or anywhere else in the game. That is why this location becomes a hidden location. Other than being hidden, in this mine, you can mine 300x faster. But there is a catch, you can only mine from this ore vein for only 3 sec, and after that, it becomes depleted. But not to worry, this mine repletes itself after 10 minutes, plus it also requires an Alloy pickaxe costing 12,000 crystals a piece and 300 stamina cost.
You can find this Concentrated ore in the Mjolnir Dead Pit 1F at the bottom corner of the map, and it has a pinkish color which sets it apart from other veins. Once you're in the mining area, you'll find a cave full of Orange/Red bright crystals along with Concentrated Ore.
When you want to mine the Concentrated Ore Vein, please wait for the Refresh Time to cool down and immediately mine it. You have to click the Mine button in three seconds, or else it can automatically deplete, and then you have to wait for another 600 seconds. After you are done with mining the Concentrated Crystals, you can get a total amount of 98 Mining Materials along with 300 Mining XP.
Is it worth the cost of around 12,000 Crystals and spending 300 Stamina from your Life Skills total Stamina worth the price? Below you can find an example of Mining materials you can obtain along with the amount and the estimated total crystals price.
After calculating and totaling the number of Crystals you've earned and how much you will gain as soon as you sell it on the Exchange Center, you’ll understand our point of view.

Doing it more than once, you can find out that amount varies but ultimately is around the same amount. And in the end, it isn't worth the cost if farming crystals are concerned, but if you are shaving some time off from Mining and don't have enough time to grind or have an unspent Alloy Pickaxe, it is for you. Also, you can do this if you want to level up your Life Skill of Mining faster.
Ragnarok X: Next Generation is a MMORPG game, having to grind for materials and, here specifically, ores and other ingredients from mines. Compared to other farming methods, Mining is more of an AFK grind, so we mostly suggest keymapping, as auto-pathing will directly take you to the farming spot. Other than key binding, you can do farming and enhance your gameplay with higher graphics settings.
Life Skills are used for farming ingredients to build your gear or other tools to enhance your gameplay. Other than Cooking and Fishing, Mining is one of these Life Skills that help you gather ingredients farmed only through Mining. Whether you want to craft, smelt or sell them on Exchange Center, Mining is what you should do. You can thus find a brief but important description of everything Mining in our guide for Ragnarok X: Next Generation.
