Five Must-Have Agents in Zenless Zone Zero for Beginners

1. Ellen Joe

Ellen Joe, the cool maid, is a damage dealer specializing in powerful, close-range Slash attacks with her sword. She can throw or split her sword and create ice combos that have a continuous effect on enemies around. With her wide AOE, it's no wonder that Ellen ranks at the top of this tier list.

Her armor-piercing capabilities, combined with her swift attacks and unique Roaming State combo that enhances her weapon with ice, is what makes her one of the most critical units to deploy and master.

2. Ben Bigger

Ben Bigger is a damage dealer specializing in Strike attacks. As a tanky bear character, he excels in counter damage with his charge and AOE abilities. His strength lies in blocking and countering attacks, making him ZZZ's premier tank with the highest defense stats and gear scaling. Ben deals both physical and fire damage, excelling in deflecting attacks.

Ben stands among the top tier agents to be deployed for boss fights due to his block and counter capabilities. You do not want to miss such a formidable physical attacker and defender.

3. Nicole Demara

Nicole is a mid-range damage dealer from the game’s most chaotic gang, Cunning Hares. She is the only Ether agent who is able to deal a powerful attack within a wide range and generates an energy field that pulls enemies towards its center and deals physical damage currently. It makes her the best agent when facing multiple enemies at once.

Her primary skill increases her ability to confuse and stun, making her an excellent crowd control unit. Nicole is the only character with such ability so far, earning her an easy SS rank.

4. Alexandrina (Rina)

Rina is a lightning maid with exceptionally powerful long-range damage and a mini-stun ability. As a Strike and Pierce agent, she deals physical and electrical damage using her two dolls, Drusilla and Anastasia. Rina’s key feature is her ability to hover and dodge extensively, making her easy to play from a distance while unleashing constant lightning strikes.

She’s an excellent electrical support DPS, offering both team utility and massive burst damage in physical and electrical forms.

5. Grace Howard

Grace is a feisty character with her trusty guns and grenades, specializing in long-range Pierce attacks. She deals electrical and piercing AOE damage, with quick shots and the ability to apply shock effects effortlessly. Her Ultimate deals significant electrical and impact damage in a wide area.

Grace is crucial, serving as either a main DPS or support DPS with a focus on shock effects. Her ability to dodge and perform special attacks without interrupting her basic combos makes her a versatile character. She is one of the best characters early in the game with her long-range attacks dealing wide AOE damage.
