In February 1996, Brothers from several Lodges in the East Zone of São Paulo raised two work flags:
The Social: Found an Association to serve 10 Masonic Lodges, building 2 Temples with sufficient structure to promote Social Assistance and Leisure work in the region.
The Cultural: Organize a Masonic cultural movement for the Brothers in the region.
In January 1996, the foundations of the Masonic Journey were established and its 1st Edition took place in September of the same year, successfully and crowned as one of the Commemorative Events of the 70th anniversary of the Grand Masonic Lodge of the State of São Paulo.
However, the event that was born to serve the social and cultural flags of the Lojas da Zona Leste region of the city of São Paulo, quickly grew to state and national magnitude, becoming the "Masonic Journey of São Paulo" and, currently, " Masonic Day of Brazil".
This reach was possible with the participation of Freemasons from various parts of Brazil and abroad, with the virtual model implemented in its XXV Edition in September 2022, resulting from the condition imposed by the pandemic that the world faced. Merit and dedication of the team of organizing Brothers, who in March 2022, faced with the imponderability of what would happen in the short and medium term, of the lockdowns imposed to combat COVID-19, dared to answer "YES, the edition of the Jubilee of Silver of the Brazilian Masonic Day will be held. It will be conducted in a completely virtual format and will seek out Brother Speakers and the Masonic public throughout Brazil."
Facing the greatest difficulties imposed at that time, the faith, perseverance, capacity, commitment and determination of the organization's components made the XXV Jornada Maçônica do Brasil something, until then unusual, its 1st 100% Digital Edition.
Its main objectives, however, remain the same: the interaction of Freemasons from different Lodges, Powers and Rites and the dissemination, through writers, liberal professionals and other opinion makers, from the Masonic environment, of relevant internal and external issues to the Order.
Its goals begin to be surpassed year after year with the evolution of these subjects and the exponential growth of Masonic culture spreading to all spaces of the universe.
This is the legacy that ACAOL - Associação Cultural e Assistencial Obreiros do Leste built and which has been expanding, now with integration at a national and international level, always with the collaboration and participation of esteemed and valuable Brothers from the various Units of the Federation.
